End of April edition

Just a brief note as I am preparing to head to Pasadena. The Uniden BCD996T is on its way, will be here on Monday - this radio is going to be neat. Nearly 28 years of scanner listening, and this one that's coming up will top almost every other radio I've had.

The monthly budget and forecast for the next three months are in - if all goes well, I will be in pretty good shape for the rest of the year. When was the last time I said that??? After nearly seven years of frustration, broken promises, bad pay, actions of a manager that put a water company out of business, and so on - things are starting to look up for me.

One note to pass on. Playboy Buddy Rose, the guy that would make a mockery of himself when the wrestling announcer told everyone his weight was 271 pounds and then Rose interrupts him and says his weight is 217 pounds, sadly dropped dead a few days ago. While he was a heel wrestler for the most part, Rose was a major part of the Pacific Northwest region, along with Billy Jack Haynes and Rip Oliver. Rose also wrestled in Texas during the 1970s, and he had a match with a young man that was making his pro wrestling debut back in 1976: Kevin Adkisson, better known to you and me as Kevin Von Erich.

The guy unfortunately did have weight problems - and this is an issue that is not to be taken lightly at all. I am one of those people, and am doing whatever I can to overcome it and be back in the shape I once was in the 1980s.

That's going to do it for now - will be back for more in the next few days.

RD
